My journey began when I was a teenager. I used to help my grandmother garden and occasionally I would watch her cook. One fortuitous day she taught me how to make hot pepper jelly, which is amusing to my siblings and cousins since none of us recall her ever eating anything spicy.
As an adult I annually made this jelly as holiday gifts for family, friends and colleagues. I was always met with high praise and even encouragement. "You really should sell this jelly," was not an uncommon comment.
I began growing hot peppers in my garden and as I contemplated retiring from teaching elementary school for over 30 years I tried my hand at selling pepper jelly at a local farmers market.
I did retire in 2020 and have spent the time since expanding with different flavors as well as developing other products made with my peppers. I have also been cultivating recipes using my products. (See suggested serving ideas on this website).
I invite you to share your own ideas for any my products.
Enjoy!
